There really isn't much that I can say that would persuade someone to watch this film. If you're a Metallica fan I'd recommend it, if you're into heavy metal music I'd recommend it.
And if you watch those 'Behind The Music' shows then you'd probably like this too. From my perspective this is simply a film about a band going through some problems and getting through them,that's all.
As a fan of this band it helps to see them when they were going through their worst period, it makes it all the more special to know that they're still going today.
