Review of Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love (2019) by Bigtech — 19 Jul 2019

Much better than I expected. I'm aware of Leonard Cohen's music, but not particularly a fan, so I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this documentary. For me, it tells three stories -- an enduring love story, an intimate view of a particular slice of society during the sixties and early seventies, and a story of a artist trying to outrun his neuroses.

Excellent and amazing footage from beginning to end. I do wish they had showed more of the songs to allow us to reflect on the lyrics, but otherwise delightful.
