Review of Magnolia (1999) by Antonio T — 09 Feb 2013
One way to describe the epic-scale character mosaic that Anderson's Magnolia creates is like understanding the meaning of Exodus 8:2, which is different in terms of meaning added by the viewers, or readers; but makes sense to Moses, or in the art of this film, to Thomas Anderson.
It's a meaningless plot that leads nowhere else than forgiveness, connections that surpass human knowledge, and to a wake-up call of the soul, at least the frogs know better, that's why they die of natural causes like rain.
Brilliant in scale.
