Review of Macabre (1980) by Mark D — 08 Jan 2009
Italian horror flicks have the market cornered on the art of absurd, fantastical facial expressions. This movie is no different. The main character played by Bernice Stegers pops an outrageous lunacy laced mug in almost every scene she's in.
I don't care for child actors generally but the daughter in this turns in a performance creepy enough to win a standing ovation from a audience of pedophile priests. The story in this is less than typical - which is an asset - it takes a long time to build though so if patience for you is not a virtue I wouldn't recommend this.
