Review of Louis C.K.: Hilarious (2010) by Geoff T — 12 Nov 2010
There's not much to say about Louis CK that I haven't already said. His humor matches up perfectly with my sentiments towards humanity. There's a lot of swearing, shock humor, and unfortunate realizations.
Topics covered here include how everything is amazing and nobody's happy, how divorce is actually a good thing, how optimism and stupidity are synonymous, and his absolute favorite, how children are selfish, solipsistic little monsters.
He brings out those frighteningly bleak aspects of every day life that nobody wants to think about, and you do that thing in comedy where you're like 'Gahhh yeah that's true!' A lot of comics have that effect, but with Louis CK's comedy, the truth hurts.
