Review of Lola Montès (1955) by Justin B — 09 Oct 2007
Neither as deeply emotional as Letter From an Unknown Woman or refined as Madame de.... disappointingly archetypical in its feminism--that of the trapped woman (birdcage imagery abounds!)--that left me cold and indifferent, but the production doesn't suffer.
his only film shot in color, it's beautiful to behold. peter ustinov is fanastic.
