Review of Le Week-End (2013) by Amilcar A — 19 Apr 2014
I truly believe that any movie with Jim Broadbent will be better than average. He's a fantastic actor and while usually typecast, he delivers and can be both funny and sad.
Le Weekend is a cute movie that keeps you thinking about your life, your relationships and making decisions that can change the course of your life.
I found this movie to be endearing and at the same time sad and depressing. There are a couple of scenes where I wanted to look away. However every dramatic and sad moment is capped with something fun and redeeming.
The only thing I would criticize about Le Weekend is that it does become a little excessive in a major part of the plot and it's uncalled for. It only adds a very marginal twist and it takes away from the realism.
That said, Le Weekend is a very good movie that as expected, no one will watch.
