Review of Journey to the Centre of the Earth (1977) by Samuel S — 07 Dec 2008
Very few adventure films are made any more and it seems that their hayday was the late fifties early sixties. Journey to the Center of the Earth is just another example of great high adventure. Instead of throwing a bunch of badguys and gaint creatures at the audience this film instead focuses heavily on the spectacule of being in gaint caves surrounded by rock formations millions of years old.
And never are the character too cliche they fulfill their roles brilliantly and makes the film feel organic.
