Review of Irma la Douce (1963) by Rob M — 29 Aug 2007
I caught this movie on late night TV around 20 years ago. Since then, it has been in my top 10 movies and couldn;t wait for it to be released on DVD. How would I describe it? I would say it's almost a predecessor to Pretty Woman.
Shirley Maclaine and Jack Lemmon give dynamic performances. This movie prompted me to watch other movies starring them because they had amazing on screen chemistry. It would take me forever to explain the plot outline, but it is a most enjoyable film.
One of the best old school comedies.
