Review of Interview (2003) by Countess N — 05 Jun 2009
This is one of the few instances where the American remake of a film is better than the foreign original. While the Dutch version isn't a bad movie at all -- both movies have the exact same plot -- the English version made four years later manages to rearrange a few minor plot points in the script to make a few "twists" that are not in the original.
Even though all the information is there, it's laid out differently. Also, with so much reliance on dialogue, it was more difficult to pick up on the more subtle notes of the performances in the foreign film.
There is *a lot* of talking, and I was simply too busy reading the subtitles to really appreciate the dynamics between the two characters, which was the best part of the English film.
