Review of Il Divo (2008) by Jordan R — 09 Dec 2009
Sorrentino's direction gives this immensely complex biopic a jolt of life and modernism. The music, sounds, cinematography, etc make this a compelling, intricate piece of work. It won't help you understand the web of corruption that has been covering Italy, but it will give you insight on it, and you will have a great time just getting a glimpse of it. Films like these make me proud to be Italian because they have soul, integrity, class and they respect quality more than anything else. The way it should be.
P.S. The film gets seriously interesting when the sicilians and the mafia come into play, and i'm not saying that just cuz i'm sicilian!
