Review of Il Divo (2008) by Fabio M — 13 Jul 2008
"Alla visita di leva il medico mi disse che avevo sei mesi di vita. Anni dopo l'ho cercato per dirgli che ero ancora vivo. Era morto lui.".
"Il divo" is the greatest Italian movie from so many years.
It's about the "spectacular" life of the 7 times Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti.
He's a controversial character he seems quite as a saint but he can be ruthless.
One of his famous aphorism is: "power tires those who don't have it".
And of course this movie is a view of Italian politics in the 70ies, 80ies and 90ies.
Ah and the Servillo's performance is perfect!
