Review of I Like Killing Flies (2004) by Shawn P — 23 Jun 2007
This is a great Sunday afternoon type documentary. The kind of flick that you randomly come across on some random station in the 300-400 channel # range. I loved it. You basically are just given a ticket inside the world of a cook/owner at an old school neighborhood friendly restaurant.
Kenny Shopsin is a great guy to follow around; not only is the food he cooks interesting; but the philosophies and views he has on life are insightful and suprisingly intelligent. Just imagine The Soup Nazi(from Sienfeld) if he went to college and got a philosophy degree.
I really had a good time with it... don't expect something amazing; but do expect a charming little gem that not too many people will ever get to experience.
