Review of Hurricane Season (2010) by Urain M — 18 Apr 2011
Well-worn formula of an underdog team succeeding against overwhelming odds. Thoroughly entertaining, competently made, but unremarkable despite being based on a true story. I will quibble with the billing.
Lil Wayne and Bow Wow are above the title, but Lil Wayn's screen time is probably less than 10 minutes and his scenes could have been excised with no impact on th story whatsoever. Bow Wow is, at best, in a supporting role.
Although he was very good. He continues to show growth in his skill. The other performer worth noting was John Salley. He was hilarious as the bus driver.
