Neither as clever as Cabin in the Woods, nor as funny as Tucker and Dale vs Evil, Housebound is still a delightful horror movie with dark humor, that often subverts the tropes of horror movies while still staying solidly within the genre.
The film also features several very real and relatable characters, the most interesting of which is the main character, who refuses to be a damsel in distress.
