Review of House of Horrors (1946) by Bob W — 06 Jun 2012
Coming at the tail end of Universal's horror cycle of the 1940's, HOUSE OF HORRORS does have an interesting central premise, but the potential is squandered by uninspired execution and lackluster production value.
Rondo Hatton is certifiably menacing, though, and he even lends his character a few small moments of pathos; he's not reason enough to recommend the film, but he does keep it from being an outright bore.
