Review of Harakiri (1962) by Agatha K — 09 Apr 2009
Smooth photography, but I wasnt too fond of the extremely wide lense used. I hate how it distorts the image. ANYWAYS, best Samurai film I have seen sense Seven Samurai. Brilliant idea and well acted. The fighting scenes are awesome if you can look past a few etch and sketches of the 60s.
But, despite the small scenes of violence, this film surpasses most pre-70s movies genetic disease of having thousands of lighting and continuity errors. The film feels so professional and complete, a masterpiece of samurai cinema.
