Review of Gregory K (1993) by Kerry M — 28 Oct 2011
A sweet made for TV movie, starring a young Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a kid who has had a difficult upbringing with parents who have struggled to care for him. He has been put in and out of care for years, when finally he meets a family who want to adopt him, but suddenly his parents want him back. Gregory (Gordon-Levitt) fights back, becoming the first child to go through the courts to divorce his parents, hoping to secure a happy future for himself.
The film itself is no masterpiece, but Joseph Gordon-Levitt really stands out as a great actor, and it is worth watching for him alone.
