Review of Floating Weeds (1959) by Shawn M — 03 Jun 2008
I had meant to watch this movie earlier, but accidentally rented the 1934 (?) silent version, also by Ozu. So, I knew the entire plot of the movie going in. It's Ozu's approach to filming that seems to really make this movie as popular as it is, and while I admit that some of his genius may have been missed on my first viewing, I appreciated many beautiful parts of the film.
I definitely need to see it again...
