Review of Floating Weeds (1959) by John T — 06 Jun 2008
Ozu's remake of his own early silent feature, which I saw beforehand. A leader of an theatre troupe travels to a small village to visit his son who believes his father died years ago and this actor is just his uncle.
Much better then the original with more humour and better paced, plus the added subplot involving the other actors is a welcome addition.
