Review of Fishbowl California (2018) by Kevin M. W — 15 May 2018
A nice little indie project about two loners who meet and accidentally find that they can help each other despite neither really wanting to. Decent performances throughout carry the thing just a notch above "indie" (but not far enough).
The lead actress, Katherine Cortez, the weight of the production turning on her character's arc, is not Meryl Streep, but she gets the job done even when the script is against her. Steve Olson, cast as a likeable slacker, manages to keep us in the game even when attention begins to wander.
There is more coming from Michael Macrae, the writer/director, and this project bodes well for the future.
