Review of Final Girl (2015) by Martyn M — 19 Jan 2019
Good fight scenes with a decent degree a nasty stuff (for a horror film). The plot, however, fails to explore and answer many questions in it's course, who?/why?/what? The earlier "hunt" is all to brief and predictable and lacks any suspense.
An orphaned girl is trained from a young age to be a ruthless assassin is a plot much better done in the French classic La Femme Nikita, 1990. A few highlights, such as the game of truth or dare in the woods, raise the film to a level it should have been throughout.
