Review of Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry (2017) by Dragongamerz — 29 Jan 2020
As a long-time Fairy Tail fan, this movie was an absolute joy to watch. Unlike the previous movie, the art style didn't make me want to cringe, and the characters are about as lovable as they've always been.
Giving extra lore behind Acnologia and the newly-introduced Sonya and Animus was also very welcome, and the fights are just as enjoyable to watch. Natsu's Dragonification form against Animus (no, it's not E.
N.D.) was easily the best part, along with the emotion leading up to it as Natsu is impaled and the aftermath where even Natsu is shocked at what he'd become. (Plus, the NaLu moment at the end was beautiful.
) A+ to you Mashima, you've outdone yourself yet again.
