Most likely the writer wrote plenty of bullshit for money. I didn't take the movie seriously at all. By doing so I was able to just sit back and enjoy the witty dialogue and drool over every chic outfit Sienna Miller wore and of course, Hayden Christensen.
He couldn't have been more beautiful. A+ cinematography.
