Review of Explorers (1985) by Andrew — 04 Oct 2009
This movie was filled with charm until the end when the aliens basically do a lame stand-up comedy routine of aping TV commercials. I guess that was supposed to be clever -- a profound commentary on social mores, blah, blah.
It wasn't clever, and added nothing to what was othewise a great movie. Don't get me wrong -- I still love this movie and recommend it highly. But I can't overlook flaws like this, especially when they're so common in Spielberg-type movies.
Just drop the clever act, please.
