Review of Equus (1977) by Jordan L — 20 Jul 2008
Probably the greatest adaptation of a play to a movie, which is interesting considering the theatricality of Equus. Richard Burton and Peter Firth give two of the greatest performances ever in a film. A film that is daringly faithful to its source material, while utilizing the opportunity of film to strengthen the work.
Sidney Lumet further proves why he is one of the greatest of all directors.
