Review of El Norte (1983) by Shawn M — 18 Feb 2009
Very effective film that paints a very true picture of immigration in the United States... and the hypocrisy behind the government's views of its illegal aliens. The performances by the two leads are very good, as are the supporting characters.
It tends to get a little bit melodramatic at times, but this can be overlooked due to the excellent approach to the subject matter. Terrifying scene with the rats, too, by the way.
