Review of Downloading Nancy (2008) by Ryan B — 13 Jan 2010
** (out of four).
I tend to like films that are about people who are depressed and having difficulty coping with their lives. But, "Downloading Nancy" is overboard. It is a well acted, pretentious, depressing, unpleasant experience.
It starts off interestingly enough with the great Maria Bello as Nancy, a depressed wife who has tried suicide in the past. This time, she hires a man (Jason Patric) to kill her.
Well shot and performed nicely, the iggest problemis we never see nor feel compassion for Nancy. Her fate just doesn't have the impact that it should.
