Review of Domino (1988) by Corey S — 24 Oct 2008
This movie plays out sketchy, but it's compelling. it's a little like natural born killers (which I also like) but with bounty hunters instead of murderers. keira knightly is domino harvey, a rich girl who was always drawn to the dark side, numchucks violence, whatever. based on a true story, dominos opportunity comes along in a bounty hunting seminar, and she hooks up with ed and choico. the three bond, hunt down and subdue criminals and feel good at the end of the day. I think what draws me in this movie is domino. she's a little girl lost but somehow, she manages to be tough and fearless when faced with thugs with guns.
There's a juxtaposition between her appearance and her behaviour in these situations. very kill bill, but no swords or kung fu. plus you pretty much know she is doomed from before she even makes it to adulthood.
