Review of Doctor Zhivago (1965) by Raji K — 16 Feb 2015
Great epic about the Russian Revolution and love. It is one of my favorite movies. I especially enjoy watching it when it is cold and snowy out. It is good to watch at home, because it is very long. I love the acting.
The score is also very good. It is a sweeping film, it has giant scenes filled with thousands of extras. there was no green screens and CGI back then. It is my second favorite David Lean movie ( Lawrence of Arabia is my favorite by Mr.
Lean). Omar Sharif was believable and he is in nearly every frame of the film. Julie Christie has never been more lovely and natural. Tom Courtney and Rod Steiger are both wonderful as well as Geraldine Chaplin is well cast as the Dr's wife.
