Review of Disco Godfather (1979) by Derek R — 16 Mar 2009
Easily the worst movie Moore ever starred in, "Disco Godfather" makes "Dolemite" look sophisticated and witty. The film attempts to be a commentary on PCP addiction in the ghetto and fails to be anything other than laughable.
It does get some credit, though, for Moore's riveting portrayal of someone hallucinating after snorting angel dust (sarcasm certainly intended). Moore said that this is the movie that killed his film career, so it at least ought to be shown some love for that if nothing else.
