Review of Danzón (1991) by Matthew F. J — 27 Mar 2015
Danzon is an excellent little independent film with no pretention but it's a fine entertainment, well acted, well written and beautifully shot. This is an interesting female orientated type of film, a film that shows and talk about women in an interesting way.
Not feminist but rather feminine, the film portrays the emancipation of a woman who's willing to take a risk and get out of her comfort zone to follow a man but as time goes she finds herself emancipated and becoming slowly her own person and gains tremendous confidence along the way.
Great film indeed.
