Review of Danton (1983) by Josh L — 28 Mar 2013
Bad history in a French language film that is badly dubbed and subbed into English. The plot seems to lumber at times. However, it makes a masterful use of symbolism in general and artfully draws parallels between 1790s France and 1980s Poland.
Should be studied by film students; a mixed bag for everyone else.
