Dangal is based on an inspiring true story, engages you with highly convincing performances that makes the audience applaud and appraise genuinely. It's an Aamir Khan production so all this is kind of expected as is a slightly drawn-out climax in the plot too.
But because of the appreciable wrestling matches you do get sucked into the experience.
