Review of Control (2013) by Debbie P — 26 Dec 2008
Control is the true story of Ian Curtis, the lead singer of the British band "Joy Division". In the late 1970's, Ian Curtis was a young man who married young, worked at an unemployment office, and joined a band after being at a Sex Pistols concert.
Curtis, was a troubled young man who had epilepsy, a troubled marriage, was a new father, was having an affair with a young Belguim woman, and suffered from depression. Meanwhile, his band is having more success than he ever imagined, and on the eve of an American tour, he took his own life at the age of 23 in 1980.
Filmed entirely in black and white, this movie is brilliant. It features many of the band's music, and the acting is excellent. I highly recommend this movie.
