Review of Chicago 10 (2008) by Larry T — 26 Mar 2008
This film mixes documentary footage with computer animated re-recreations of these historic radicals that were put on trial for inciting a riot at the 1968 Democratic Convention. I thought the animation would ruin it, but you get used to it pretty quick and there is PLENTY of rarely seen news footage to make it of interest to students of the 1960s.
I was particularly thrilled to see the footage of Allen Ginsberg marching with David Dellinger. There are two other films on the subject you must see: HBO's Conspiracy: The Trial of the Chicago 7, and PBS' The American Experience: The 1968 Democratic Convention.
