Review of Charley Varrick (1973) by Senor C — 20 May 2006
Don't believe the other low ratings on this movie. It's a great sleeper from the 70s w/ some great notible cast from the era. Watler (Grumpy Old Man) Matthau made some great flixs in the early 70s and this one might be as good as The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.
Norman (Mr Roper) Fell; John ("take a look@ that brown one over there. Man, what a set of jugs"..was his talking about cows like that forshadow to his role as Warden Bacman in Chained Heat?) Vernon are in it but it's Joe Don (Walking Tall and of course Mitchell) Baker who steals the show here.
