Review of Carry On Nurse (1959) by Rob L — 25 Feb 2010
The first in the `Carry on...` series set in a hopital, and the one that made Jacques famous as the formidable matron.
This is up there as one of my all time favourite `Carry on...` films, with some fantastic and simple comedy moments.
And no matter how many times I see this film I laugh everytime.
Kenneth Willimas is great in a more straight laced performance for him in a `Carry on...` film.
But it`s Charles Hawtrey who steals the show with his obsession of listening to the radio, laughing at things we cannot hear and playing imaginary instruments as he mimes to classical music.
And let`s not forget a mention for Sims as the accident prone nurse who just can`t seem to get it right.
All in all a fantastic `Carry on...` full of what has become the typical `Carry on...` chaos so many of us have come to know and love.
