Review of Camp Hell (2010) by Jonathan M — 08 Oct 2011
Featuring a provocative premise about a Christian summer camp invaded by evil forces (evil forces beyond those of the campers rampant teenage desire), Camp Hell never quite delivers on its promise. A few good scenes do little to detract from overall malaise and boredom that permeate the film.
I wanted to like the film a lot, but it never quite manages to take its horror or its critique of fundamentalism to a high enough level to make either aspect seem interesting.
