Review of Byzantium (2013) by Coral R — 20 Sep 2013
This movie is what a vampire film should be and reminds me in alot of ways as "An Interview with a Vampire" in terms of the excellent writing and acting and not relying on cheap shocks of tv movies and drivel that films like "Twilight" produced.
Saoirse Ronan and Gemma Arterton are brilliant as a pair of 200 year old plus vampires who fled from their London home to a coastal resort trying to escape their past. This is very much a dramatic take on the genre and instead of relying on blood and gore every 5 mins it focused on building strong characters and a pretty awesome story.
...highly recommended.
