Review of Boyhood (1951) by Johnny K — 23 Mar 2015
Neck and neck with Birdman for the finest film of 2014, Richard Linklater's Boyhood is an ambitious film that I deeply resonated with. It's also very well acted (Particularly from Patricia Arquette, who won the Oscar for her role), and newcomers Ellar Coltrane and Lorelei Linklater got progressively better as the film went on, which is nigh impossible for child actors.
The film's imposing length, was offset by my becoming mesmerized by what was in front of me. This is definitely one of the decade's finest films so far. Verdict: A+.
