Review of Bloody Sunday (2002) by Dan W — 09 Dec 2008
I love Paul Greengrass. Before you see a Greengrass film you forget how unrealistic every other film is. Everyone likes to call him "documentary-style" but I think that's kind of misleading. I haven't seen many documentaries that have the cameraperson running and capturing scenes with main people obscured behind other people. His style is more like "you are standing right there-style." Either way, he has one of the best and most distinctive styles around today.
His next film is going to be "Imperial Life in the Emerald City" in 2009. Could it be the first great Iraq War film? I wouldn't bet against it.
