Review of Bird (1988) by Christine B — 27 Feb 2008
As with everything that Whiteker is in, especially on the leading role, this is one of my highest recommended films.
In addition, he is learning saxofone especially to make this movie, in order to ACTUALLY bring in life the genius jazz musician Charly (Bird) Parker, the man to whom this film is specially made for. Specially made, directed and devoted by Clid Eastwood, having the original Charlie Parker recordings found, refined and digitilized. Its a revealing documentary, a great piece of art, and a rare sourse of delicate contemporary music knowledge.
