I'd rather give it 4.5 stars, but I think this movie needs to be watched just before watching "A Lion in Winter".
It shows the drama inherent in having as one's Lord, a suffering figure associated with common humanity, and how the power of the king was necessarily limited by the "orthodoxy" that was highly corrupted in practice.
