Nina Hoss is my new hero. She never looks less than ravishing as an East German Doctor who finds herself 'reassigned' to a small country hospital after she files for an exit visa.
As she endures near constant surveillance and humiliation at the hand of the local police, she tries not to fall in love with the local doctor, who may be a spy, her West German lover plots her escape and smuggles Dunhill cigarettes & panty hose for her.
Quite a dilemma, and I'm with her all the way.
