Review of August Underground's Mordum (2003) by Joe W — 29 Aug 2012
This is probably THE most genuinely brutal and disturbing movie ive ever seen and ive seen a fair few. The whole thing is horribly convincing. From the graphic, unflinching and realistic gore to the naturalistic dialogue of the actors.
It feels like you've stumbled on the REAL home movies of REAL serial killers commiting REAL murders. That air of believablity sets Mordum apart. The film is basically a collection of rape/murder/torture/necrophilia scenes filmed on a handheld camera and interspersed with footage of the films protagonists attending concerts, getting drunk and having sex with each other.
Theres no real plot or sense of direction, just a whole lot of stomach churning "look the other way and reach for the sick bag" depravity.
