Review of August Underground (2001) by Eli M — 11 Jun 2008
This film is very unusual. A broken-up attempt at a real life snuff film, AU does what most movie-makers shy away from: It makes you sick. It makes you have an awful feeling of burning nausea, melting your stomach and panging your intestines.
Watching it, you feel as if you are really watching people getting mercilessly killed and slaughtered. The special effects make everything very realistic. As a movie, this is very broken up, little to no plot, and blind cruelty.
As an endeavor in special effects and making the viewer think they are watching n actual snuff film, this is top notch.
