Review of August (1996) by Satu S — 14 Nov 2008
A movie about a dotcom company at the time of the IT bubble in 2001. This is an interesting portrayal about the journey of meeting unforeseen success and having the market disappear from under you - all inside one year.
The story of dotcoms is well known but this movie takes the viewer to a more of a microlevel, to the VC negotiations and inside the head of man worth 400 million one day and nothing the next. Josh Hartnett has had the great opportunity to take on a serious role for once and he pulls it off perfectly.
