Review of Attack of the Giant Leeches (1959) by Dan M — 04 Nov 2008
Short, with an interesting location (it seems that a lot of the movies are set near oceans or in the desert, so a swamp is always a welcome change), interesting creatures (leeches are a great concept, a sort of primal vampire), and some events that are interesting to watch (the disturbing scenes of the leeches feeding and the character of Dave chasing his wife and lover through the swamp with a shot gun) all build a rather decent old B-film.
Any longer and the movie would have been too long, so I think the director did a good job keeping things to the point and not belaboring the story.
