Review of Amadeus (1984) by Bradley W — 25 Apr 2012
Amadeus is not a movie, its a masterful poem of music and lust, and it quickly grabbed me and I loved every minute. Many years back I read about this film and was fascinated about it even though I was only a kid at the time, but when I actually saw it many years later I could only gaze at the genius behind the story, the performances, and the inner meanings.
F. Murray Abraham plays one of the greatest perforances in film history, and its just incredible and how he takes this unknown man and turns him into someone extraordinary. Tom Hulce plays possibly the most famous musical composer of all time, and man his performance is almost hauntingly teriffic.
But the true genius is behind this story of greed and jealousy, and as the film went on and on we get deeper and deeper into the lives of Mozart and Salieri. Amadeus is not only one of the greatest films of all time, it is by far one of the most magical works of art I have ever seen and should be commended.
